FRENCH LICK –
Radius Indiana recently named the top 10 economic development projects of 2017, with Purdue@WestGate coming in at number one. More than 50 nominations were submitted online for their annual stakeholders meeting held in French Lick.
Purdue Research Foundation Senior Vice President Greg Deason says recognition as the top economic development project of the year exemplifies the support from the Radius region. “Radius stakeholders and regional partners in southwest Indiana will be anchors to our success as we replicate initiatives from the Foundry, Office of Technology Commercialization, and Purdue Polytechnic at WestGate.” “Purdue’s mission as Indiana’s land-grant university is to help Hoosiers live happier, healthier lives by cultivating ideas to economic impact.”
Purdue@WestGate is an economic development accelerator at Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. It offers tools to startups, programs and educational opportunities for businesses. WestGate also had two “honorable mentions” on the list: Purdue Foundry @ WestGate Firstarter and the expansion of Alion at WestGate @ Crane Technology Park.
Radius Indiana is a regional economic development organization representing eight counties in southern Indiana: Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Orange, and Washington. They also serve as point of contact for Naval Support Activity Crane. For more information, and to see a complete list of the Top 10 visit here.
