About this event:
ABOUT: Get Outdoors Day will introduce and remind people of the many recreational activities available in the great outdoors, while at the same time providing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Education and Career Awareness to a diverse population.
Why are we doing this? On average, Americans spend 93% of their time INSIDE! Research shows that spending time outdoors promotes a healthy lifestyle in a number of ways, including boosting creativity and focus, improving mood and self-esteem, and increasing Vitamin D levels. In addition to promoting a deeper appreciation for the great outdoors, we also aim to incorporate education on STEM topics and available careers in our region.
Individuals will have opportunities to participate in human foosball, obstacle courses, geocaching, corn hole, disc golf, petting zoo and various outdoor oriented activities! Those attending can observe aerial demonstrations and get first hand views of equipment and vehicles used by the military and first responders. We will also be providing refreshments and giveaways throughout the event.
Why should my organization get involved? It is important that communities come together to provide fun-filled and educational opportunities for citizens. By sponsoring, promoting and attending events such as this, you are showing that you care about the health and wellness of your patrons and employees while helping to increase the quality of life in this region!
