ODON – Virginia-based ManTech International is making plans to double its current Indiana workforce within the next two to three years. The defense contractor opened its first facility at Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane in 2018 with 15 employees, growing to its current level of about 100 workers.

The company specializes in cyber defense, data collection & analytics, and software engineering for the U.S. military and intelligence sectors.

In an interview on Inside INdiana Business with Gerry Dick, ManTech Executive Director Roy Streeter explained the company’s footprint at NWSC.

“The initiatives and the thrust areas of Crane lineup extremely nicely to our technical focus areas of ManTech. We think the contractual partnership is something that we can continue to support Crane in the future,” said Streeter.

Streeter says the company is currently constructing a 72,000-square-foot facility, its third workspace on the Crane campus.

In March 2019, ManTech opened a warfare laboratory at Crane. The company says the lab is used to research and develop advanced weapon systems and cyber warfare capabilities.

Streeter says the WestGate@Crane Technology Park has been a key element to ManTech’s growth.

“We’ve leveraged the West Gate Authority and West Gate Academy quite a bit. That’s where we incubated and the Purdue Foundry too, for workforce development and staffing needs,” said Streeter.
